Tuesday, 04 Feb 2020 The Foundation Louis Vuitton shows Charlotte Perriand, the visionary French Designer

On the name of the 20th birthday of Charlotte Perriand’s loss, The Foundation Louis Vuitton hosts a wide exhibition dedicated to this 20th century forward thinking Designer, pioneering architect of a new way of life. A 10 rooms’ exhibition allocated to her work of architect and cadenced by her feminist regard.

As a precursor of current debates over Woman, Charlotte Perriand develops a certain interest in indoor furniture and would work with renowned artists such as Le Corbusier in the 1920s.

Come and cross the decor times through “the Ideal Apartment” according to Charlotte Perriand (1927) to the “Young men House”, universes answering significant needs of a century. Materials, well-being and functionality are at the heart of her creations, taking into account the real needs of people.

This exhibition will enlighten Charlotte Perriand’s art but also her vision of the synthesis of the arts and especially art’s real scope: decorative art of course but also the object of societal transformations of our societies. A highly modern Artist who contributed to the creation of UAM (Modern Artists Union).

The Louis Vuitton Foundation is located at the heart of Bois de Boulogne (Paris 16) and offers the visitor a refreshing detour in a natural environment. The ergonomics of the building and its glass walls enable you to appreciate the wide land. We owe this building to the famous architect Frank Gehry who also built the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao.
